Millions of devotees and the alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning – Sai children will have undergone traumatic experience after our beloved Bhagawan, Avatar of the Age, left His mortal coil – finite form to assume infinite form. But even as a scientist , I am fully convinced that He is present in cosmic-universal consciousness and guiding us every moment. I am sure that He will manifest in the form of fragrance, Vibhuti, and Theertham if we try to get connected to Him in full faith and dedication. I would like to share such experiences of people known to me, but who are not directly devoted to our Bhagawan, but who have great faith in God and surrendered.
Recently the nephew of one of my friends, who is well placed in society both in academics and politics had come from Singapore to spend a week in Prasanthi Nilayam. This was his first visit. The boy was highly spiritually oriented and sat in meditation in Kulwant hall both in the morning and in the evening. A day before he left, he wanted me to clarify the experience which he had in the evening. As he was meditating sitting in the first row along the path which Bhagawan generally used to tread, he felt some fragrance cutting across him. When he opened his eyes there was no sign of any person in front of him , but he could experience the fragrance moving away from him. When I enquired him about the nature of the fragrance, his answer was that it was not any marketed perfume. Our beloved Bhagawan had blessed the devoted boy in His own way.
Another experience of similar kind was reported to me by the Chief Technician of the blood bank of the hospital run by our family trust. When the girl was cleaning up Bhagawan’s photograph that had the saying ‘Why Fear When I Am Here’ on it and a Lord Ganesha statue for Ayudha Puja, she experienced strong fragrance emanating from Bhagawan’s photo. She was afraid for a moment and left the place. Again when she resumed the work, the fragrance re-emanated. She mentioned that it was not the smell of commercial perfumes. She is a highly devoted Christian who was blessed by Bhagawan.
The above experiences indicate the universality of spiritual aspect of Bhagawan just like the universality of any physical law. It is, therefore, necessary to have absolute faith and total surrender to experience the presence of beloved Lord. Bhagawan always considered the students of His hallowed university as His property implying that they should be the torch-bearers of His Mission in the transformation of the world for better and peaceful living. Today all the activities of Kulwant hall, both in the morning and in the evening, are religiously carried forward by our students with greater dedication and emotional attachment of Bhagawan. I can now appreciate as to why Bhagawan showered His Love on His loving students. I strongly feel as I sit in meditation in Kulwant Hall before Sai Mahasannidhi – not Sai Mahasamadhi, that He has full satisfaction about His beloved students carrying His Mission and rejoicing to the tunes of Bhajans.
Dear Sai brothers and sisters I hope you will appreciate the onerous responsibility you have to shoulder collectively and individually wherever you are working in whatever capacity to satisfy and bring joy to our Bhagawan who is in infinite form pervading all universes. As an administrator I feel that it is necessary for all the former students to work together under one umbrella – Sai umbrella. The University will be happy to associate with the alumni in whatever way required in carrying out the Mission of Bhagawan.
