Sri Chakravarthi garu joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1960 in Andhra Pradesh cadre. He held various positions, such as Collector of Anantapur district, Finance Secretary (Projects), Commissioner of Relief and Commissioner of Commercial Taxes. He was the first Registrar of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, a position that he held until 1994. He was appointed as Secretary, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust by Bhagawan and later assumed responsibility as a Member Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. He took charge as the fourth Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai Institute Of Higher Learning in June 2018.
