Sri SathyaSai Outreach Center, Odisha
Swami pays minute attention to even a seemingly small event such as Prasadam distribution in Kulwant Hall. Swami would enquire if the last person sitting in the hall had received the Prasadam. His love has always been such that it reaches every nook and corner, leaving behind a path for others to tread. Regarding medical services, He has not left any stone unturned. With every passing year a great new chapter gets added to make the services widely available and accessible to the poor.
Extending love and support to the cardiac patients before and after operation
In July 2017, alumnus of the Sri SathyaSai Institute at Puttaparthi, Dr SathyaSwaroopPatnaik, initiated the Sri SathyaSai Rehabilitation programme to follow up on post-operative cardiac patients of the SathyaSai Hospitals in Puttaparthi and Bangalore from the state of Odisha. A year later, on 9th July 2018, more alumni, including VenkatDesikan and Gunaranjan P, joined hands to extend it as a pre-operation support system by setting up an Outreach Centre. The funding from brother P Gunaranjan for the equipments has raised the confidence in taking forward the project which is truly one of a kind.

Heartfelt gratitude to the Sri SathyaSaiSeva Organisation, Odisha
Gratitude must be mentioned especially to the Sri SathyaSaiSeva Organisation (Odisha) for lending support by providing support staff and maintenance. This has helped the patients and both the hospitals in many ways. The patients’ waiting period has been reduced considerably as the team provides support to patients in getting the required clearances and pre-operative tests undertaken in Bhubaneswar itself, thus reducing the burden of the financially-weaker patients of having to go all the way to Bangalore or Puttaparthi for the tests. This project will benefit not just people of Odisha, but the entire Eastern region of the country.
The Sri SathyaSai Outreach Center is now a helpline center for all people who would like to avail the services of the Super Speciality Hospitals. In less than six months, the services witnessed 1300–1400 patients across three camps. Today, the services are getting regularised largely with dedicated support from volunteer doctors.
Services offered
ECG, echocardiography, blood tests for PT/INR, blood sugar and hemoglobin levels are provided to the patients. Apart from cardiology, the centre also provides OPD services in the fields of general medicine, dental, neuro sciences and special clinics for diabetes, hypertension, anticoagulation management and preventive medicine. A newly established ophthalmic screening unit helps in early detection of glaucoma, cataract and retinopathy and is a boon for diabetic, hypertensive and elderly patients. A physiotherapy unit having facilities for TENS, IFT, Ultrasound and run by
trained physiotherapists has been added to benefit the patients, especially post-operative cardiac and neuro patients.
