His Work

Remote Helpdesk Seva and Telehealth Seva facilitated by Alumni, Pan-India

SSSIHL alumni across all campuses (90 and counting) are coordinating the Online SSSIHMS Hospital Helpdesk seva launched since the start of COVID-2019 pandemic, with the involvement and support from Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSSO). The seva activities are coordinated through Health4All, a free and open source hospital information system developed by volunteers at UC (Yousee), a volunteer platform started by our alumni brother P S Gunaranjan. It is also being used by Health Clinics run by SSSSO of various states.

There are two portals for activities:

1. Remote Helpdesk for Super-specialty Hospitals at Prasanthi Nilayam and Whitefield (since December 2020), which functions as a remote helpdesk for the SSSIHMS. The patient calls to SSSIHMS (080-4710-4600) are routed to the Health4all platform, where the volunteers respond to patient queries and also coordinate with SSSIHMS for providing necessary information to patients.

2. All India Free Telehealth service by SSSSO, a free tele-consultation service where volunteer doctors across India provide free consultation through phone at appointed hours. Patients can call to 080-4717-9797 to avail this service. The volunteers collect the patient details and upload them to the database, and the patient will be provided an appointment with the available appropriate doctor. The patient takes tests at the local laboratory and re-appointment with the doctor is scheduled for further follow-up. Preventive counselling is also provided. Telemedicine was launched in Odisha in April 2020, Telangana in August 2020 and Kerala in October 2020, and now being expanded to more states.

Those interested to participate may register through the Volunteer Registration Form (click on the link).
